VM Elevators continues to lead and champion STEM learning

VM Elevators are thrilled to announce their sponsorship of Roding Valley High School's #RaceToTheLine Bio STEM Challenge 2023/24, which took place on Friday 19 July 2024. They sent two of their engineers, both fellow alumni back to the school to support and encourage the event, which was a wonderful opportunity for the technicians and their old teachers.

#RaceToTheLine, an amazing initiative run by The Learning Partnership-is designed to engage Year 7 students in a thrilling educational experience, balancing the rigors of STEM with crucial life skills. Students not only learn fundamental scientific principles but also experience substantial personal and emotional growth. And it’s fun! This popular and inclusive cross-curricular STEM activity involves small teams of students working together to design, build, and race a model rocket using RS components. It applies core STEM classroom learning, such as Newton's Laws of Motion, along with CAD/CAM, 3-D printing or laser cutting to manufacture wheels, computer coding for creating a timing system, and tool skills in the build process. The project encourages social learning between students and develops essential life skills.VM Elevators are continually committed to supporting local schools and empowering students through STEM education. In the past the company has donated LEGO supplies enabling local underfunded primary schools to build STEM workshops. The company is also championing its community through its #vmcaresand #wearevmelevators campaigns, sponsoring local youth football teams, karate academy championships, STUCK IN A LIFT industry podcast– and other education and sporting initiatives.
