Revision of BS 5655-11 – Code of practice for the undertaking of modifications to existing lifts

Many lifts in the UK were installed over 20 years ago, meeting past safety standards but falling short of modern technologies. Without upgrades, they pose increased safety risks. The complexity of type examinations and defined parameters means that a full revision of BS 5655 parts 11 and 12 is required for the lift industry.
