Congratulations to Kristian Farr, Senior Engineer from Sweco UK who received this award which aims to acknowledge individuals who have demonstrated exceptional promise and dedication to advancing knowledge in the vertical transportation sector.  Kris’s paper proposed a theoretical methodology to assess the evacuation lift capacity for a 34-storey development in London, with the assessment required by the buildings Fire Strategy in line with the London Plan Guidance. This study serves as a benchmark for the building design and evacuation planning, emphasizing the importance of incorporating theoretical traffic analysis in the early stages of development to ensure safety and compliance with fire safety regulations.
